◉ Paid time-off The following employees have the right to take reasonable paid time off work during working hours to perform their duties or attend training courses: Officials of recognised trade unions [S168: Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992]; Trade union learning representatives attending appropriate training courses; Safety representatives [Safety Representatives and Safety Committee Regulations 1977]; Members of special negotiating bodies (SNB) [Regulation 25, Transnational Information and Consultation of Employees Regulations 1999]; Members of European Works Councils; Information and consultation representatives and negotiating representatives [Information and Consultation of Employees Regulations 2004]; Employees acting as a representative for the purpose of consultation on redundancies or business transfers or who are candidates for such positions [S61: Employment Rights Act 1996]; Employees under formal notice of redundancy looking for new work and attending job interviews, although, only those who have been continuously employed for two years would be entitled to paid time off …
