◉ Labour Welfare Committee Under the Labour Protection Act, the Labour Welfare Committee is composed by: A chairman, the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Labour and Welfare A secretary, an employee from the Department of Labour Welfare and Protection appointed by the Minister Four government representatives Five employer representatives Five employee representatives The power and duties of the Committee are: To give opinions to the Minister in relation to labour welfare policies, guidelines and measures To give opinions to the Minister regarding the issuance of ministerial regulations, announcements and regulations related to welfare arrangements in working establishments To give recommendations in relation to the provision of welfare To monitor, assess and report results ◉ Welfare Committee According to the Labour Protection Act, an employer must set up a Welfare Committee in a workplace with 50 or more employees …
