France: Labour Code reform to begin with working time

The French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls, has announced that the reform of the country’s Labour Code will take place over the next two years starting with a reform of working time laws. The government has said that the statutory 35-hour work week will not be changed but that the possibility of adjusting daily, weekly or yearly working hours, rest times and paid leave through collective agreement will be introduced. Detailed proposals will be drawn up by January 15th 2016.
