We are developing and running a range of professional HR educational and training events during the year for those working in our member companies. These will increasingly be organised through the FedEE® Academy.
HR Counsel Programme: A part time course for experienced HR practitioners in multinational enterprises. It is conducted primarily through distance learning, tutor assessment and personal tutor online support. The course will lead to an Advanced Diploma in Multinational Employment Law (Adv Dip.MEL) and the right to us the designation “QP-HR Counsel®” or simply “HR Counsel®”.This qualification and job title is owned as an exclusive, registered trade mark by FedEE®.
Employment Law Programme: We have developed a series of audio-visual briefing presentations for a number of leading jurisdictions – covering resourcing, working time and termination. So far the countries covered are China, Germany, India, Japan, the Netherlands and the USA. In the pipeline are presentations on France and Italy. These presentations may be viewed free of charge by those working in FedEE® member organisations.
Without Prejudice: FedEE® has produced its own 25-minute training video on race discrimination in the workplace. This consists of a drama set in the UK. It was created with the highest production standards, was professionally scripted in cooperation with the tribunals’ service and features two actors who have worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and another who was a leading actor in the play that won the Evening Standard best London West End drama award in 2016.
Round Table Meetings: Round table events follow a convention where participants speaking “off the record” with no notes taken. What is said therefore stays in the room. This allows participants to speak more openly than at a conventional round table.
The next FedEE Round Table meeting will take place at 2pm to 4.30pm on Monday, June the 24th. The venue will be, once again, Friends House, opposite to Euston station. The theme for this meeting will be “Planning for the Worst” and it will cover four principal topics – the latest on Brexit: Deal or No Deal; The coming economic downturn – now indicated clearly by the OECD; a return to the latest progress with labour displacing technologies and implications or HRM; and “Out of the Blue”, dealing with the unpredictable – but, over the longer term, inevitable – disasters that range from terrorist incidents, IT security failures, major frauds or insolvency, flood, fire and explosion, general strikes, escalating yellow vest protests, war, revolution, earthquakes, tsunamis, pandemics and – statistically the most likely of all – famine due to a major volcanic explosion throwing ash into the upper atmosphere. The world would have less than nine months to survive in the event of a major crop failure. What should HR do in such circumstances. Are there contingency plans in place? In our recent member survey no-one said they were concerned with disaster planning. Is that truly wise? Can it just be regarded as some other executive’s problem? Do you really know the risks in all your operating countries? Places are Free for FedEE members at these events, but fairly limited. So please book soon by sending a request to email@example.com.
Brexit HR Review Group: The purpose of the group is to track and analyse Brexit developments as they happen from July 2018 until the Brexit deadline on March 30th 2019. We are particularly concerned with the implications of a “No Deal” Brexit as this would have a devastating impact on international companies and importers/exporters based in the UK. Strategy meetings will be held on October 5th and November 12th in London as this period represents a critical time for the UK in negotiations with the European Union. FedEE Members may join the group without further charge.
