Official global estimates of mortality during the health crisis are way off the mark. Our Statistics Unit sets deaths from COVID-19 to date at +/- 10% of 2.5M. Almost 70M are still receiving wage subsidies whilst on furlough (or whilst partially laid off) whilst some 550 million have lost their jobs – mainly in the grey economy.
