The US House of Representatives and Senate have passed the “Emergency Act”. The Act comes into force on April 2nd and applies to companies with 500 or less employees. It introduces, inter alia, an obligation for employers to give up to 12 weeks leave (paid from week 3) to employees to care for their children when their school is closed.
