Under the Trade Disputes Act, the following will constitute industrial action: any act or omission by a group of people, acting in combination or under a common understanding, which would result in any limitation, restriction or delay in the performance of any employment duties; or the cessation of work by a group of people acting in combination, or a refusal under a common understanding of a number of people who are or who have been so employed, to continue to work or to accept employment  Industrial action and lock-outs will be considered illegal in certain cases, such as: if the aim is any other than continuing the dispute within the relevant industry; if it supports a dispute which the Industrial Arbitration Court is already aware of; or if the action is intended to force the government to inflict any type of hardship …
