Female employees have the right to four weeks of paid adoption if they fulfil a series of requirements:  the child they have adopted is under the age of 12 at the time of ‘formal intent to adopt’ (the employee has submitted a court application to adopt); the adopted child is a Singaporean citizen; if the child is not a Singaporean citizen, one of the adoptive parents must be so; the adoptive mother must be legally married at the time of the ‘formal intent to adopt’; the adoptive mother must have worked for at least three calendar months, or was involved in trade or business or profession or vocation before the time of ‘formal intent to adopt’; the adoption order is approved within one year from the time of ‘formal intent to adopt’ …
