Brazil :: Employers’ health and safety obligations

According to the law, all employers have the following duties to ensure the health and safety of their employees: Cleaning; Adequate natural or artificial lighting, appropriate to the nature of the activity; Natural ventilation, compatible with the service performed; Installation of drinking fountains, sinks and sanitary appliances; Provision of chairs or benches; Installation of locker rooms with private lockers (exceptions apply); Provision of all the necessary resources and clothing (such as goggles, masks, gloves) free of charge; Every establishment must have all the equipment necessary for the provision of medical first aid; Buildings must conform to the technical requirements to ensure safety and security to all workers …
