FedEE Law Programme: User guide

This programme has been designed especially for HR practitioners in international companies who need to gain a basic understanding of legal obligations in particular national jurisdictions. Each presentation is in jargon-free English and follows a consistent format. No prior legal training is necessary and the presentations are structured to allow individuals to learn at their own pace.

To view the presentations on-line, you will need a sound card installed on your computer system, together with either speakers or headphones. If you work in an open-plan environment, you may prefer to view the material in a room set aside for training purposes or off-site. The running time for each presentation is given on the introductory page of every module.

Controlling the presentation
Each presentation consists of 8-10 slides that run automatically in conjunction with an audio narrative prepared by our guest speaker. The titles of all slides in the presentation are provided in the table of contents to the left of the viewing screen and once the talk is underway you have complete control over its operation. You may pause at any point, jump ahead or go back to a previous slide.

Group training
The presentations may be used in group training sessions or incorporated into regular HR departmental meetings to ensure that staff are kept informed about the key elements of employment law in relevant countries. The material may also form a basis for discussion about topics such as the servicing of a new country branch or compliance problems in a current operation.

Certification
The FedEE certification programme allows you to test the knowledge you have gained through these presentations. It may also be used to motivate training by requiring staff to achieve certificates for relevant jurisdictions.

Further sources of information
For further guidance about employment law in the jurisdictions covered by this programme, you may wish to consult the European HR Knowledgebase in the members' area of the website. The knowledgebase includes links to full legislative texts (in English or their original language).

Follow-up questions
If you have questions about any of the presentations you have viewed, please contact the legal experts directly either by email or telephone. Contact details are provided on the introductory page of each presentation.
